Altona Cemetery
Bethlehem, Pennsylvania

About
Located at the corner of Altonah and Macada Roads in Bethlehem, PA, the Altona Cemetery is a non-profit (501c) organization registered and licensed with the Pennsylvania State Real Estate Commission. The cemetery is governed by an elected Board of Directors doing business as Altona Cemetery Company. It is a non-denominational, privately run cemetery and is not affiliated with any local church or other religious establishment.
Our goal is to provide the best service possible to families, both professionally and personally, with the internment of their loved ones.

History
Altona Cemetery was designed in the summer of 1884. The original land (directly across Macada Road north of St. Thomas Church) was purchased from Charles Warner. Over the years, the cemetery was enlarged several times by purchasing additional land.
The cemetery was originally owned by an association composed chiefly of St. Thomas Church members. Today, it is owned by the Altona Cemetery Company and governed by a Board of Directors. Each Director is required to have purchased graves in the cemetery.
